...can only begin when we learn to let go of yesterday!
Welcome the last few hours of March as we journey on towards Easter!
The third month of the year and what a whirlwind month it has been, especially as the clocks have now sprung forward, bringing longer evenings in the light and the promise of summer on the horizon. As we travel towards warmer weeks and months, it seems pertinent for us to consider journeys and what they signify in our own lives.
Nancy Salmeron said:
“Enjoy the journey and embrace the destination when you get there”
I think this is such a useful quote to remember, as I recently discovered how journeys can be ended very abruptly. Doors can close in an instant but it’s how we react to those closures and see then for being perhaps only the end of one thing which will inevitably lead to another opening elsewhere. The opening and closing of doors can happen very suddenly, and can catch you off balance...but it is how we respond to these changes that shapes us most as human beings.
An author, currently unknown, said: “Life is a journey that has a lot of different paths, but any path you choose use it as your destiny”
I think this author demonstrates the importance of making acceptance an active quality about yourself. It speaks to me about how we should utilise the different paths we encounter to the best of our ability and feel empowered that we can make this our destiny.
As Anthony Robbins said: “The only impossible journey is the one you never begin”.
We cannot begin to consider our journey through life and perhaps through each day until we begin that journey. Once we begin the journey, it seems to me that we should allow ourselves to trip over, make mistakes and get back up again to the best of our abilities. Allow ourselves time to develop strength and resilience along the journey, so that setbacks along the way become more manageable. And when larger obstacles face us, we have the steadiness to endure them.
Never let a stumble in the road be the end of the journey…
I think these words also signify the importance of how we can end a journey, by not being open to what could happen. We do have the power to end journeys but there seems to be many benefits in staying open and aware to what could happen in our journeys, and perhaps rather unexpectedly.
We can take further inspiration from Jane Wilsen-Hewarth who said: “A traveller with an open mind grows richer with each journey, with each encounter, with each conversation”.
Let us take the time to open our minds and consider how we can make our journeys ever more adventurous and enjoyable in the days, weeks and months to come…
Thank you also for all your continued support for the brand instagram account. I have recently been trying different hot drinks when enjoying a meal out, as shown by the collage above. The range of colours throughout the varying weather patterns during the past couple of weeks may be easily identifiable in the range of seasonal food enjoyed throughout the month thus far. I continue to seasonal local fruit and vegetables from a local vegetable box farm, and am also astonished at the wonders of Nature, reflected in the size of the produce created by the Earth.
I hope you are looking forward to #Easter and all the yummy treats that it will bring, and please do keep watching the foodie instagram for some ideas on how to become inventive with your Easter cooking and baking, and perhaps this is the year to make your own hot cross buns!
